SpaceX is using a Falcon Heavy rocket to launch cargo into space for the first time in more than three years.

Here's What We Know

SpaceX has prepared the rocket at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The Falcon Heavy is scheduled for launch on Oct. 31, 2022. The rocket will deliver a 4-ton secret cargo of the United States Space Force into orbit.

It is assumed that the cost of launching will be $115 million this time. Normally, a Falcon Heavy launch costs $97 to $150 million for SpaceX. This time, the company does not plan to return the rocket's central accelerator to Earth.

In conclusion, we should add that Falcon Heavy has performed only three flights during its existence. It first flew into space in early 2018. SpaceX used the rocket twice more in a year and a half. Since the summer of 2019, Falcon Heavy has never flown into space.
