Sweden plans to transfer modern weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Here's What We Know

Swedish Defense Minister Paul Jonson said about it in the interview to a local newspaper Dagens Nyheter, writes Euractiv. There is no information about what kind of weapon, but it is supposed to be man-portable air defense system RBS 70 and SAU Archer. The Ministry spoke about this back in September.

Flashback

The RBS 70 is a man-portable surface-to-air missile system developed in Sweden by Bofors Defence (now Saab Bofors Dynamics). The system uses laser guided BOLIDE missiles. They can hit targets at ranges up to 8 km and altitudes up to 5 km. MANPADs reload time is just 2 seconds.

Archer is a modern Swedish 155 mm self-propelled artillery unit based on Volvo A30D 6×6 chassis. It is designed to destroy manpower, artillery batteries and bunkers, as well as to provide passages in minefields and field barriers. The SAU is served by 3-4 men. It can hit targets at distances up to 60 km (with Excalibur rounds).
