Ukraine plans to create public Wi-Fi access points, which will work in the absence of electricity.

Here's What We Know

The Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mikhail Fedorov told this in an interview with Forbes. Due to the fact that Russia is increasingly hitting the energy infrastructure of Ukraine, in many regions of the country there is no light. As a consequence, cell phone towers and Internet providers do not work. Therefore, the Ministry of Communications wants to provide the population with places for communication in any situation.

Tesla Powerwall solar panels will be available to operate such points, as well as part of the Starlink satellite internet stations, which will soon be handed over to us by Poland. We are talking about a party of 1570 terminals.

When We Can Expect It

The first test points of available Wi-Fi will be launched in November. If everything goes well, the project will be scaled up throughout Ukraine.
