Sony posted net income of $1.79 billion for the quarter and increased its full-year guidance by 5%

Sony managed to generate revenue of $18.64 billion (+16% / $2.59 billion) in the second fiscal quarter of 2022, which coincides with the third calendar quarter, while operating income rose 8% ($170 million) to $2.33 billion. Sony reported net income of $1.79 billion, up nearly a quarter (+24% / $340 million) for the year.
The Japanese giant raised its annual net profit forecast by 5% - to $7.58 billion. The projected total annual profit increased by 1% to $78.53 billion. In addition, by the end of the fiscal year the company from Japan wants to bring revenue in the gaming division to $24.6 billion, which is 10% higher than the estimate made at the end of the first fiscal quarter of 2022.
