SpaceX hopes that its Starship spacecraft will be able to make its maiden flight by the end of this year.

Here's What We Know

According to Reuters, SpaceX wants to launch the giant spacecraft into orbit in early December, along with a 70-meter Super Heavy rocket that will return to Earth. The spacecraft will also follow, but with a slight delay. It will spend about an hour and a half in space and then land near the Hawaiian coast.

Although SpaceX wants to launch Starship and Super Heavy in about a month, Elon Musk's company has not received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The U.S. regulator says it will issue a license only after SpaceX will provide all the necessary information for analysis.

Finally we would like to add that the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is planning to use Starship to land people on the moon for the first time since 1972. The cost of the mission will be $3 billion. The landing is scheduled for 2025, and by then SpaceX's craft should have made several test flights into space.
