XPeng showed the X3 flying car in action for the first time
The Chinese company XPeng has unveiled a new prototype of the X3 flying car. Finally, the car has learned not only to drive, but also to fly.
Here's What We Know
The XPeng X3 is a car that can travel on ordinary roads and fly through the air. To do this, it has four wheels and rods with propellers that are attached to the roof. The car is equipped with eight propellers arranged in pairs on four rods for vertical take-off and landing.
The weight of the X3 is almost 2,000 kg. Judging from what we have seen in the new video, the beams will not fold. In the latest test, the car drove out of the garage, took to the air, flew for a while and landed successfully.
The purpose of the test was to test the stability of the vehicle in case one of the motors failed. XPeng claims that the steering wheel and gearbox lever will be enough to control the car in the air. Cruising range will be comparable to that of conventional electric cars.
