China intends to buy more than a hundred planes from the European concern Airbus.

Here's What We Know

Airbus signed a framework agreement with China Aviation Supplies Holding Company (CASC). Completion of all the agreements was timed to the visit of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz who recently visited China.

The cost of the contract is $17 billion. The lion's share of aircrafts falls on narrow fuselage model A320. China will buy 132 of these airliners. The agreement also provides for purchase of eight A320 planes.

Despite the launch of its own production of passenger aircrafts, China does not plan to refuse contracts with market leaders. Now the country is operating more than 2000 liners Airbus.
