Microsoft may double the number of ads in the Windows 11 Start menu

Microsoft has started testing a new increased amount of advertising in insider builds of Windows - testers have noticed an increased number of banners and pop-up ads. While it is not yet possible to say for sure that Microsoft will definitely transfer this to stable builds of the system, but everything is possible.

Here's What We Know

The ads include a "Complete your profile" notification, a "Sign up for a Microsoft account" offer, and a OneDrive notification urging you to back up your files. They are at the top of the drop-down menu (that's the little menu when you click your user profile, designed to lock or log out of a session).

We hope that the company will reconsider its decision and will not worsen the comfort of working on an already not perfect operating system.
