NVIDIA has decided to discontinue the production of chips for two graphics cards of the Turing generation (the generation before last).

Here's What We Know

We are talking about GeForce RTX 2060 and RTX 2060 SUPER graphics cards. The former was originally introduced in 2019, offering users 6 GB of video memory. A year later, the company announced the SUPER model, and in the middle of last year the RTX 2060 version with 12 GB of VRAM came. The release was due to a shortage of chips for Ampere cards (RTX 30) and a large stock of GPU generation Turing.

It should be noted that GeForce RTX 2060 immediately became a very popular graphics card among gamers. According to Steam statistics, only GeForce RTX 1060 is a more popular accelerator. To say the same about the RTX 2060 SUPER is impossible, although this graphics card thanks to its relatively low price ($ 99) also found its customers, winning Steam share of 1.23%

NVIDIA along with the termination of the Turing GPU for the production of GeForce RTX 2060 / 2060 SUPER asked its partners to reduce the amount of graphics cards until late fall. The video cards remain available, but the situation may quickly change.
