Steve Jobs' old sandals pulled out of the trash and are now being auctioned off for $60,000
Many things of the former head of Apple Steve Jobs were sold at auctions: his clothes, old computers and gadgets, etc. However, the new lot will probably surprise many people: these are old Birkenstocks sandals.
How Much Does It Cost?
Steve wore these sandals back in the '70s or '80s, after which they were rescued from a pile of garbage by Mark Sheff, a chef who ran one of Jobs' hotels in Albany, California, back in the 1980s.
""The sandals were part of his simple side. They were his uniform. The great thing about a uniform is that you don’t have to worry about what to wear in the morning. He would never have done or bought anything just to stand out from others. He was simply convinced of the intelligence and practicality of the design and the comfort of wearing it. And in Birkenstocks he didn’t feel likea businessman, so he had the freedom to think creatively"," recalls Chrisann Brennan, Steve's former partner and mother of his first child.
The pair of sandals will go up for auction this Friday. Julien's Auctions expects them to sell for between $60,000 and $80,000. The starting price is $15,000.
The winning bidder will also receive a free NFT sandal
