Samsung has opened pre-orders for the Odyssey OLED G8 curved monitor with 175 Hz refresh rate for £1299

The South Korean company presented its first Quantum Dot OLED gamer monitor at IFA 2022 in Berlin. It is now available for pre-order.

Here's What We Know

Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 is equipped with a panel based on organic LEDs. Its feature is the Quantum Dot LED technology. According to the manufacturer, this combination makes it possible to achieve a bright image, abandoning the color filters and special backlighting. This allowed to reduce the minimum thickness of the monitor to 3.9 mm.

The monitor has a diagonal of 34", 21 to 9 aspect ratio and 3440 x 1440 pixels. The refresh rate is 175 Hz and the response time is 0.1 ms. The manufacturer claims DCI-P3 color gamut coverage of 99.3% and compliance with the VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black standard. The curvature radius is 1800R.

Owners of the Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 can use Amazon Prime, YouTube and Netflix streaming services without having to connect a computer. The Samsung Smart Hub service is integrated for this purpose. The Gaming Hub interface provides access to cloud gaming services, NVIDIA GeForce Now, Xbox and Google Stadia.

The Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 is already available for pre-order in the UK. The official price of the monitor is £1,299.
