France transfers Crotale air defense systems to Ukraine: they can hit targets at altitudes up to 6 km

France has helped Ukraine strengthen its air defense system.

The French Minister of Defense Sebastien Lecornu told about it in his interview to Le Journal du Dimanche. The question is about the transfer of the Crotale surface-to-air missile system to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to Lecornu, two batteries of air defence systems were sent to Ukraine. In addition, the Minister said that France intends to train up to 2,000 Ukrainian soldiers in combat, the use of French equipment, as well as skills related to logistics.

The Crotale is an all-weather short-range surface-to-air missile system designed to combat air targets at medium, low and extremely low altitudes. It has a range of 500-10000 meters, altitude up to 6000 meters and reaction time of 5 seconds.
