The game director of soulslike Lies of P said that the development is almost over, and the gloomy atmosphere of the "Belle Epoque" era is unique for the game
The development of soulslike Lies of P was completed by about 70% back in August, but now the game's director Choi Ji-Won said that most of it is finished.
Here's What We Know
During a meeting with the Japanese edition of 4Gamer, Ji-Won said that now the team's task is just polishing and improving, fixing bugs and making final adjustments.
Gamers have repeatedly compared Lies of P to the PlayStation exclusive Bloodborne, because stylistically the games are similar, but Ji-Won said that he believes the visual inspiration of Lies of P is unique in the gaming industry. He claims that no other game has been created in the dark atmosphere of the Belle Epoque, a period of prosperity in France that began in the late 19th and ended in the early 20th century.
He also confirmed that making a game about Pinocchio was partly about making it more appealing and raising awareness about it.
Flashback
Lies of P is an adventure souls-like game with a unique "lie" system. The story will unfold depending on how the player lies. At the end it will affect the end of the story. Since Pinocchio is a puppet, players can change the character's body parts to gain new skills, unique features and advantages in battle. The game also promises an elegant world, a deep combat system and an exciting story with dozens of different enemies.
When We Can Expect It
Lies of P is scheduled for release in 2023. The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 4|5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and on the first day in the Xbox Game Pass library.
