Apple is considering buying Manchester United for $7.12 billion and rebuilding Old Trafford
A number of British publications, including the Mirror, the Standard and those with the word Daily in their name, are reporting that Apple is interested in buying Manchester United.
Here's What We Know
The owners of England's top six soccer clubs this year have decided to make a sale. At the end of the first half of the year, Chelsea London changed hands. It became an American billionaire Todd Boehly, who paid £4.25 billion ($5.15 billion). A few weeks ago it was reported that Liverpool were offered for sale.
Now Manchester United could also get a new owner. According to British newspapers, Apple is ready to pay for the Red Devils £5.88 billion ($7.12 billion) and finance the reconstruction of the Old Trafford Stadium. This will require about £1.5 billion ($1.82 billion) more.
Manchester United's current owner is the Glazer family, which bought the club in 2005 for £790 million ($957 million). She wants to raise nearly $10 billion. In addition to Apple's interest in buying the Red Devils is interested in the billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe (James Ratcliffe), who could not compete for the purchase of Chelsea in the spring.
