NVIDIA continues to be the undisputed market leader in graphics cards of various types. This applies to both notebook and desktop graphics.

Here's What We Know

The discrete graphics card market declined sharply in the third quarter of 2022. Total accelerator shipments equelled 14 million units. Compared to the same period in 2021, shipments were down 10 million units (-41.6%). NVIDIA's share was 88%. Intel and AMD accounted for only 12%.

Shipments of mobile and desktop graphics cards were divided equally - 7 million units each. NVIDIA's share in the discrete notebook gas pedal market increased from 87% to 90% comparing to the last year.

The U.S. company also significantly increased supply of graphics cards for desktop computers. The company's share at the end of the reporting period was 86% compared to 79% last quarter and 79% in the third quarter of last year.

According to analysts, graphics card sales will continue to decline in 2024. In 2025, the market will begin to recover, but at a slow pace.
