Tesla is working on an update of the Model 3 electric car as part of its Project Highland program. This is reported by the news agency Reuters.

Here's What We Know

The Tesla Model 3 has been on the market for five years, and in that time the car has not changed much. It continues to be very popular, although the Model Y is already showing better sales.

The Project Highland program will allow Tesla to finally change the look of one of its best-selling cars. The Model 3 will remain without buttons and vents, and the traditionally shaped steering wheel will be replaced by a steering wheel like an airplane. Such a solution is used in the Model S.

Updated Tesla Model 3 will appear in the third quarter of next year. The company will launch production of electric cars in Shanghai and California.
