Germany will continue to provide Ukraine with Gepard anti-aircraft tanks
Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that Germany will continue to provide military assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Here's What We Know
According to Scholz, Ukraine will receive an additional batch of Gepard self-propelled air defense systems. German Chancellor told about this after the conversation with President Zelensky at a press conference with financial and economic organizations. The amount of equipment is not specified.
This year Germany handed over three dozen anti-aircraft tanks to the Armed Forces. The last batch arrived in mid-September. The Gepards performed well in destroying Iranian kamikaze drones Shahed-136.
But all is not as serene as it may seem at first glance. Germany is experiencing difficulties with the supply of ammunition for anti-aircraft tanks because of Switzerland's position, blocking the transfer of ammunition to Ukraine, citing its neutrality.
