The U.S. Department of Defense has signed a contract with Raytheon for the production of additional NASAMS surface-to-air missile systems for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Here's What We Know

The relevant information appeared on the Pentagon website without specifying the number of air defense systems. The cost of the contract is $1,216. All work must be completed by November 28, 2025.

This year Ukraine received two NASAMS complexes. The cost of the previous contract amounted to $182m. The USA planned to provide Ukraine with a total of eight air defense systems.

$1.216 billion is enough to produce a dozen NASAMS, taking into account the cost of the previous contract. However, this is not entirely correct. The Pentagon does not specify how many launchers and radars each complex will contain. In addition, there is no information about the number of missiles.

Now we can only guess how many air defense missile systems Ukraine will receive within three years. Therefore, it is better to wait for official information.
