Germany will not completely abandon Huawei network equipment
Despite the fact that the U.S. has recently completely banned the use of products from Chinese manufacturers of telecommunications equipment, Germany has no plans to abandon it.
Here's What We Know
The sale of network equipment from Huawei and ZTE, along with solutions from Hytera Communications, Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology and Dahua Technology, was banned in the United States. U.S. authorities believe that the products of these manufacturers threaten the national security of countries.
Following this, Germany reported that there are no plans for a complete ban of solutions from Chinese companies. A statement to this effect was made by the Ministry of Economy. However, Berlin will strengthen control over the use of imported components.
Germany will consider each individual case and make a decision. Reuters news agency asked for a comment from Huawei, but the company's response was diplomatic, i.e. without any specifics. The manufacturer said it would rely on "constructive dialogue based on facts" when it comes to supplying equipment to the EU, including Germany.
