Apple is considering producing some of its iPad tablets in India. This is reported by CNBC, citing its own sources.

Here's What We Know

There are no concrete plans yet, but Apple is in talks with Indian officials. However, there are some obstacles: in particular, the lack of highly qualified specialists and people with experience in creating such gadgets.

Nevertheless, the company is trying to reduce its dependence on China, planning to transfer some production to other countries. Among the main reasons are the growing tensions between the United States and China and the Chinese government's strict restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic. For example, these restrictions and subsequent employee protests at the Foxconn plant caused problems with the production of new iPhone 14 Pro models.

Moving some production to India has been Apple's plan since 2017. First some older smartphone models, such as the iPhone SE, began to be assembled there, after which the iPhone 14 flagships began to be produced in India. But the main production still remains in China.
