Aura Aerospace unveiled the Ranger intercontinental air cab concept in the style of a Darth Vader ship with a range greater than that of an Airbus A380
Aura Aerospace has unveiled a concept aircraft for intercontinental passenger transportation. The air cab is called the Ranger.
Here's What We Know
Star Wars fans may notice that the Ranger resembles the Dart Vader shuttle. The novelty is a vertical takeoff and landing aircraft, which uses a quartet of engines with eight 173-cm blades. After switching to horizontal flight mode, a pair of turboprop engines comes into play.
According to the manufacturer, the Ranger will be able to transport passengers from New York to Australia. It has a range of 18,000 km. It is more than the Airbus A380 (about 15 000 km). By the way, the aircraft can simultaneously carry five people.
The maximum flight speed of the Ranger will be 820 km/h and its flight height will be 3 km. Here Airbus A380 went ahead - 945 km/h and 13 km respectively.
On board the Ranger there will be a toilet for a comfortable journey of up to 22 hours. The company also notes that the air cab will use environmentally friendly jet fuel.
