It's official: Germany will give Ukraine the RCH 155 SAU based on the GTK Boxer armored vehicle with a PzH 2000 turret and a range of fire of up to 54 km

Germany has announced that it intends to transfer RCH 155 self-propelled artillery units to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The relevant information appeared on the website of the Bundeswehr. We are talking about 18 units. Unfortunately, there is no timeframe for the delivery of the weapons yet. It is also unknown whether the SAUs will be produced or whether Ukraine will receive prefabricated units.

RCH-155 is a modern 155-mm self-propelled artillery unit on the GTK Boxer wheeled armored vehicle and with a turret from Panzerhaubitze 2000. The crew consists of two men. The RCH-155 is capable of firing while driving. Maximum firing range is 54 km and rate is 9 shots per minute. The vehicle weighs 39 tons. Due to the 815 hp engine, the RCH-155 can accelerate up to 100 km/h.
