Dyson Zone: wireless headphones with active noise cancelling and built-in air filtration mask for $950
Dyson, a well-known manufacturer of quality home appliances, at the beginning of the year announced an unusual product called Dyson Zone. Now all the details about it have been revealed, including the cost and the start of sales.
Here's What We've Seen
The Dyson Zone is a hybrid of wireless headphones and an air filtration mask. That is, you can simultaneously listen to music and breathe purified air, thus protecting yourself from various viruses, bacteria and other harmful microorganisms. To do this, built-in compressors draw air through double-layered filters and direct two streams of purified air to the user's nose and mouth. The company assures that the filters eliminate 99% of harmful particles, including those as small as 0.1 micron, while the K-Carbon filters capture gases that pollute city air, including NO2 and SO2.
As for the headphones themselves, they feature 40mm neodymium speakers, 11 microphones, and an active noise cancellation system that reduces the audibility of ambient noise by up to 38dB.
Battery life depends on the use of filtering. If the Dyson Zone plays the role of headphones only, the battery life reaches 50 hours. But the air purification system reduces this time to 1.5-4 hours, depending on the mode selected.
The price of the headphones is $949. Dyson will open pre-orders for the new product in March 2023 in the United States.
