China Aircraft Industry Corporation (AVIC) has tested the Liuxing-260 unmanned aerial vehicle.

Liuxing-260 is a drone demonstrator that is designed to test artificial intelligence and unmanned technologies. The UAV will be used to test drone swarms, among other things.

The Chinese corporation said the Liuxing-260 successfully completed its maiden flight, during which it performed several maneuvers and landed at a designated point using a parachute system. The drone was tested in one of China's deserts. A rocket launcher was used for the launch.

Liuxing-260 will be available in different configurations depending on customer requirements. AVIC states that its project will boost the development of new aircraft and equipment in the aviation industry. The corporation has been developing the drone for three years.
