It's a record: it took less than a minute for hackers to crack the Samsung Galaxy S22 flagship

The annual Pwn2Own commercial vulnerability hunting event was held in Toronto, Canada, where hackers hacked the Samsung Galaxy S22 flagship not once, but as many as four times.

On the first day, the STAR Labs and Chim teams identified two critical flaws in the Galaxy S22. This gave the hackers full access to the phone. The next day, the Pentest Limited team also managed to hack the gadget.

A third hack followed, and on the third day of the event, the hackers hacked the smartphone for the fourth time, and it took less than a minute - just 55 seconds. Security experts at Pentest Limited claim to have gained access with a "wrong input validation" attack. They received a $25,000 reward for doing so.

According to the competition, the latest version of the Android operating system was used on the device, as well as the most recent update.
