Almost ready and being tested: Ukraine has developed a unique drone-kamikaze, which can attack the target several times
A new drone developed by Ukrainian specialists will soon enter service of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. It is a kamikaze drone, similar to Iranian "shahids", but with some features of its own.
Here's What We Know
Oleg Boldyrev, head of projects of the Ukrainian concern Ukroboronprom, told the media in an interview about the new UAV.
"It is already there. I would call it "patient zero." The machine flies, the machine is now undergoing training, because we, talking about a strike drone, we are talking about a kamikaze variant. But we Ukrainians are very greedy people. We're going to have a kamikaze with a return capability," he said.
This means that the drone will be able to attack an enemy target several times at a time. The range is 1000 km and the weight of the warhead is 75 kg. At the same time, the new model partially consists of foreign-made parts. However, the development of software, means of communication with ground stations, assembly and maintenance of drones is carried out by Ukrainian specialists.
