Apple a month ago announced the Emergency SOS feature for iPhone 14 users in the U.S. and Canada, and now the company has expanded its geography.

Here's What We Know

As of today, Emergency SOS is also available to iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max owners in France, the UK, Germany and Ireland. To activate the feature, you must install the latest version of iOS.

With Emergency SOS, users can send short emergency messages in places where Wi-Fi and cellular service are not available. The message transmission process takes place via satellite communication. You can also use the satellite link to broadcast your location in the Find My app.

Emergency SOS will be free for two years. Then you will have to pay for its activation. Apple has not disclosed the price of subscription.
