Microsoft adds Teams chat to Outlook
Microsoft is planning to integrate Microsoft Teams chat into their Outlook email client. The giant has been testing this feature for some time and says it will be available to all users in March 2023.
"This feature will provide easy access to Teams chat in Outlook in the context of a meeting, so participants can send a quick message or view the chat," Microsoft's productivity plan for its cloud services reads.
The chat integration will be limited to Outlook calendar items and will be useful for conference organizers and participants to discuss something in real time rather than sending emails.
Microsoft also plans to include Teams messages in Outlook search results on the web. This feature is scheduled for February along with AI-based file suggestions in Teams chats. February will also see an expanded view for Teams profile cards that includes a person's profile, contact details, LinkedIn information, and more.
