F-35B Lightning II crashed on the runway in Texas while practicing a vertical landing

At Fort Worth Air Force Base in Texas, near the Lockheed Martin plant, there was an unpleasant incident with a fifth-generation F-35 Lightning II fighter jet.

Here's What We Know

The aircraft was practicing a vertical takeoff and landing. During landing, it collapsed on the runway from a low altitude. The incident occurred in the morning of December 15. Police arrived on the scene, responding to requests from the U.S. Department of Defense and Lockhedd Martin

The pilot is fine. He was able to eject successfully and is now under specialist observation. There have been no allegations of fire from the crash of the supersonic fighter jet yet either.

The Defense Department says the incident involved an F-35 Lightning II, which has not yet been handed over to the military. The Pentagon also said it has no information on who was at the controls of the fifth-generation fighter jet. The defense agency declined to comment further.
