Like a LEGO construction set: Dell unveiled the Luna, a conceptual modular laptop without screws, which can be disassembled in just 30 seconds
Dell continues to try to create a rugged laptop with fewer screws and components that are easier to upgrade and dispose of. The result of this work is a modular laptop concept called the Luna.
Details
On the surface, it looks like a typical 13-inch Dell laptop like the Latitude models. But inside, it's a LEGO construction set that can be completely disassembled in about 30 seconds. Cables and screws will not be a problem, and no special tools are needed for assembly and disassembly, which means that if necessary, the laptop can be repaired with your own hands at home.
Including, any user can effortlessly replace the old battery or display with a new one, as well as not only repair, but also modify the device, adding the necessary elements. It's about as complicated as removing the SIM card from a phone.
But so far this is just a concept, so whether we will see a consumer laptop like the Luna in the near future is unknown.
