Poland to Pay $51 Million to Elbit Systems for F-16 Block 52+ Fighter Pilot Simulator

The Israeli company Elbit Systems won the tender to supply simulators for Polish pilots of the fourth-generation F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters.

Here's What We Know

The Polish Ministry of Defense announced the tender in 2020 and received seven bids. Elbit Systems, the winning bidder, is committed to deliver four new Block 52+ level F-16C/D Fighting Falcon simulators within 28 months. The value of the contract is $51 million.

The new Elbit Systems system will replace the old simulators that were delivered to Poland together with the fighters in the early 00s. The main requirement of the Polish ministry for the new development is to simulate all onboard systems of the fighter in Polish configuration and Operational Flight Plan software version M6.5.

The simulator of the Israeli company must simulate all weather conditions, refueling in the air, emergency training. The system should also provide simultaneous training of at least four crews.
