Historic Launch - SpaceX Launches 200th Space Launch Since 2006

On December 17 at 18:48 (EDT) or 15:48 (PDT), SpaceX performed its 200th space launch. As part of the anniversary launch, the satellites of the operator SES were put into orbit.

The Falcon 9 rocket launched from the SLC-40 pad at Cape Canaveral, Florida. The first stage returned to Earth for the ninth consecutive time, landing on the Shortfall of Gravitas platform in the Atlantic Ocean. It was the 191st launch of Falcon 9.

Nowadays Elon Musk's company uses Block V level rockets. It took 16 years to make 200 launches. Between 2006 and 2009. SpaceX launched the Falcon 1 rocket five times into space. Four more launches were made by a Falcon Heavy rocket.

SpaceX has managed 57 launches this year, a record. The next one will take place in a few hours. The Falcon 9 rocket will put 54 Starlink satellites into orbit. Also this year, the aerospace company managed to get permission to launch 7,500 Starlink Gen 2 satellites and became the most expensive private firm in the United States. Its valuation rose to $140 billion.
