Verizon gives customers $25 in the My Verizon app

American cellular operator Verizon is giving away $25 through the Verizon Up program. But it's worth noting that the prize is not available to everyone, and it's unclear what principle the company uses to select users.

For a chance to win a $25 gift card, you need to download My Verizon on the App Store or Google Play. In the app, you need to open the Verizon Up section at the bottom of the screen and see a list of special offers.

If you're lucky, you'll see "Here's your $25 Verizon Gift Card, on us." You will then be sent to a page with your gift card code and PIN. The PIN must be entered when you use this $25. The gift card can be used to pay for anything from a case to a smartphone, but only at authorized Verizon locations.

What the operator is guided by when choosing the lucky ones, is not known yet. But it's clear that it's not loyalty. A Phone Arena reporter writes that he personally knows someone who's been a Verizon customer for 15 years, and he was left without $25.
