Gran Turismo series has sold more than 90 million copies

Yesterday, December 22, the Gran Turismo series of car simulators turned 25 years old, in honor of which Polyphony Digital studio president Kazunori Yamauchi made a speech.

"Over the past 25 years, the total sales of the series have exceeded 90 million copies as of November 16, 2022," Yamauchi wrote on the PlayStation blog, "this result could not be achieved alone. Behind this figure of 90 million are all the media representatives who have conveyed the appeal of Gran Turismo to their readers. There are also the people at PlayStation who have sold GT around the world with passion and there is the incredible amount of support from retailers who have interacted with our users. I sincerely thank them all for their support."

The seventh part of the series was another success for the studio, and soon it may be released on PC, but, as the developer says, it will take some time to properly optimize the game.
