Czech Republic to spend $2.3 billion to buy 210 CV90 combat vehicles

BAE Systems will supply Combat Vehicle 90 (CV) to the Czech Armed Forces. This was announced by Defense Minister Jana Cernochova.

The Czech Ministry of Defense this week signed a memorandum with the British and Swedish units of BAE Systems. According to Jana Cernochova, it confirms the agreement of all parties on the main parameters regarding the acquisition of combat vehicles.

The head of the Czech Defense Ministry is yet to reveal all the details of the deal. It is known that the Czech Republic wants to buy 210 combat vehicles CV90, and the cost of the contract may reach about $2.3 billion.

CV90s are tracked combat vehicles equipped with guns. They are popular in Central European countries. About a week ago, Slovakia signed a $1.8 billion contract to purchase 152 combat vehicles.
