Online service Esports Charts has compiled a list of the most popular eSports games in 2022.

According to Esports Charts statistics, the most popular eSports discipline of the year was MOBA League of Legends - its broadcasts collected more than 615 million hours of viewing.

In terms of peak viewing, League of Legends also took first place with more than 5 million simultaneous viewers. In comparison, Dota 2 garnered only 1.7 million viewers.

The top 5 popular eSports games by peak viewers looks like this:

  • League of Legends - 5,147,701 viewers;
  • Mobile Legends: Bang Bang - 2,845,364 viewers;
  • Counter-Strike: Global Offensive - 2,113,610 viewers;
  • Dota 2 - 1,751,086 viewers;
  • Valorant - 1,505,804 viewers.

The most popular eSports event of 2022 was League of Legends: Worlds 2022 garnered nearly 142 million hours of viewing and over 5.1 million simultaneous viewers.

The largest prize pools of 2022 were drawn in tournaments for the following games:

  • Dota 2 - $32.3 million;
  • PUBG Mobile - $24.3 million;
  • Arena of Valor - $18.6 million.
