Low-cost Ryzen 7000 processors will go on sale January 10, 2023, priced from $229 and will offer up to 34% superiority over the Ryzen 9 5900X in gaming
AMD will start selling cheap Ryzen 7000 series desktop processors in two weeks. We are talking about chips, which do not have the index X in the name. New processors will be available on January 10 next year.
Here's What We Know
This part of the line on the architecture Zen 4 is represented by three platforms: Ryzen 5 7600, Ryzen 7 7700 and Ryzen 9 7900. The frequencies are 3.8-5.1 GHz, 3.8-5.3 GHz and 3.7-5.4 GHz respectively. Each chip supports multi-threading technology and has a TDP of 65W.
The 6-core Ryzen 5 7600 will cost $229 - $70 lower than the Ryzen 5 7600X. The 8-core Ryzen 7 7700 will cost $329 - also $70 cheaper than the X version. And the 12-core Ryzen 9 7900 will cost $120 cheaper than the R9 7900X - $429 versus $549.
Paired with DDR5-6000 type RAM, the top-of-the-line Ryzen 9 7900 beats the Ryzen 9 5900X with a 105W TDP by 19% in gaming. The Zen 3 chip was used with DDR4-3600 memory.
AMD tested the processor in 12 games. It was 3-34% faster than the Ryzen 9 5900X. The tests were conducted in Full HD resolution on a PC with a Sapphire Radeon RX 6950 XT NITRO+ graphics card.
