Musk announced the activation of almost 100 Starlink terminals in Iran
Residents of Iran have already been able to activate almost a hundred Starlink satellite Internet terminals. This was announced by Elon Musk.
Here's What We Know
The American billionaire first promised to activate the Starlink service in Iran last fall. Apparently, the head of SpaceX was able to keep his promise, and it took him several months to do so.
According to Reuters, the activation of Starlink in Iran was not just a desire to enter a new market. Not only that, the launch of satellite Internet in the country is more of a political decision.
At the moment, there is no information on who imports Starlink terminals into the country and how the payment is made, because they are not officially sold in Iran. The Independent reports that the American authorities are helping to promote the service. Iranian citizens are looking to import several thousand terminals, each of which can service up to 200 devices.
