FNNews citing information from analysts Counterpoint Research wrote that the sales plan for the Galaxy S22 smartphones is underfulfilled by 30 million units. The source believes that the reason is the declining interest in classic flagship phones in favor of foldable devices.
Moreover, the foldable Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 is not performing brilliantly either: it failed to reach a market share of more than 10% in the U.S., Canada, Japan or China. Last year's Galaxy Z Flip 3 had better sales figures. What most likely led to the decline in consumer interest was the immaterial difference between the two generations.
Samsung's average sales price for the fiscal year was up just 2%, while Apple's was up 7% and sales were up 10% over the same period last year.
Samsung's revenues also fell by about 4%, while its market share decreased by 0.2% compared to last year.
