Ukraine's Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, said in an interview with The Associated Press that Ukrainian specialists plan to develop strike drones that can counter Iranian kamikaze drones used by Russia to attack Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure facilities.

Here's What We Know

According to the minister, Ukraine has already acquired about 1,400 drones like the Fly Eye, which are used mainly for reconnaissance. The next step will be to increase the number of air-to-air combat drones. These are kamikaze drones and UAVs that fly a distance of 3 to 10 km and hit targets. And they will be produced in Ukraine.

"I can say already that the situation regarding drones will change drastically in February or March"," Fedorov stressed.

By the way, there have been several drone attacks on military and airbases on Russian territory recently. Ukrainian authorities have never officially acknowledged such drone strikes, but they have made cryptic hints that Russia can expect retaliation for its war in Ukraine, including on Russian territory.
