At the end of 2022, Amazon announced its intention to cut about 10,000 employees in order to reduce costs and improve financial performance.

Apparently, the situation at the company turned out to be much more serious, as many more employees may be out of work. At the moment, the layoffs of 18,000 people are being discussed, which corresponds to 5% of Amazon's total workforce. Such a large-scale layoff has already been called a "historic wave".

In a blog post, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said that "Amazon has weathered uncertain and challenging economic times in the past, and will survive this as well."

Unfortunately, the economic crisis has hit every company in the world, including giants such as Amazon.
