Aeolus Robotics unveils Aeo work for caring for the elderly
At CES 2023, there was a presentation of a robot designed to take care of elderly people. The developer is Aeolus Robotics, and the device itself is called Aeo.
Here's What We Know
The robot is focused on homes for the elderly. There, it can provide invaluable assistance to the staff. Aeo is equipped with powerful manipulators, thanks to which it can easily deliver food and medicine to the patient. What's more, the precision of the arms allows the device to carry smartphones.
Aeo is equipped with sensors for orientation in space and supports voice control. In a demonstration at CES 2023, the robot was able to drive up to the table, bypass interference, estimate its height and place a bag.
To interact with people, Aeo has two screens that take the place of the eyes. By the way, the robot itself resembles a person. It can call for help if it detects that the patient has fallen.
Aeolus Robotics does not disclose the cost of the device. The company rents out its robots, not sells them. Since 2018, different versions of Aeo have been working in Japanese nursing homes. Also in the future, the possibility of using robots in schools has not been ruled out.
