Apple began to voice audiobooks on Apple Books using artificial intelligence
Apple has begun using artificial intelligence to voice its audiobooks.
Here's How It Works
Digital voices are already available for some paid and free audiobooks on the Apple Books service. Most of these are fiction - love novels. Meanwhile, Apple itself has not made any loud announcements about this, and insiders say that the company had planned to launch the voices from AI back in November, but postponed it because of the media hype associated with the purchase of Twitter.
So far, only two digital voices are available: Madison and Jackson. And only in English. In the future, two more voices are to be added: Helena and Mitchell. This dubbing is much cheaper and takes less time.
Right now on Apple Books, the relevant section with audiobooks states that they are "made with a digital voice based on the voice of the real speaker."
