The U.S. ordered from L3Harris Technologies mobile missile systems VAMPIRE for Ukraine, the AFU will use them to fight against drones

The U.S. Department of Defense has signed a contract with the American company L3Harris Technologies for the production of mobile missile systems VAMPIRE for Ukraine.

Here's What We Know

This is stated in the press release of L3Harris Technologies. The contract amount is $40 000 000. We are talking about 14 systems, which will be installed on vehicles. The vehicles will be provided by the U.S. Department of Defense. The manufacturer plans to deliver the first four VAMPIRE systems to the Armed Forces until mid-2023, and the rest of the batch - by the end of the year.

VAMPIRE is a portable system that can be mounted on pickup trucks to launch high-precision 70mm missiles. The launcher has four missiles and L3Harris-type APKWS (AGR-20 Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System) laser-guided targeting. The AFU will use the VAMPIRE to combat enemy drones.
