Drone owner nearly rammed a rarity British World War II Hurricane fighter plane

There could have been a plane crash at the Buxton Carnival during the Battle of Britain memorial flight. But luckily it was avoided.

The Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) banned drone flights during the event. But a 49-year-old Derbyshire resident named Mark Bagguley wasn't bound by the rules.

He launched his drone and nearly hit a vintage Hawker Hurricane, which was designed almost 90 years ago by Hawker Aircraft Ltd. The fighter, powered by a Rolls-Royce engine, can reach speeds of 547 km/h and has a range of nearly 1,000 km. The plane first took to the skies in 1935.

The police was able to quickly identify the owner of the drone. Policemen confiscated the drone and arrested Mark Bagully. He pleaded guilty and is awaiting trial.
