Sales of the cancelled Lenovo Legion Play handheld set-top box powered by Snapdragon 888 started in China

Lenovo cancelled work on the Legion Play handheld console, but prototypes have appeared on sale. Some bloggers have even managed to buy the devices to create reviews.

Here's What We Know

Legion Play is equipped with a Full HD display with HDR10 support. The diagonal of the screen is 7". The console has frontal stereo speakers, built-in controllers with two sticks, a cross and several buttons, including A, B, X, and Y, as in gamepads for Xbox.

The console is equipped with a Snapdragon 888 mobile processor. It's not the newest chip. After it was introduced Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Gen 2. We do not take the Plus versions into account, because they only have an overclocked CPU.

Legion Play carries a 7000 mAh battery and runs the Android 11 operating system. The console is aimed at cloud gameplay.

How the prototypes of the console went on sale is currently unknown. There is also no information on why Lenovo canceled the release of the console. The Legion Play was expected to be unveiled at MWC 2021. Now in China, a prototype console can be purchased for $160.
