Microsoft is moving some standard features from Teams to its Teams Premium subscription. It's currently available as a free 30-day trial, but it looks like it won't be long until the full launch. At the release, subscribers will get exclusive access to some features such as real-time translated subtitles, special collaborative scenes and virtual destination options.

The Register spotted the full list of premium user privileges in the updated licensing guide. According to it, the list of features exclusive to subscription includes:

  • Live translated subtitles;
  • Timeline markers in Teams meeting recordings when a user leaves or joins a meeting;
  • Custom scene organization in Together Mode;
  • SMS notifications, organizational analytics in the admin center, and a view of the scheduled queue for virtual meetings.

"“After the 30-day grace period, users will lose access to features previously available in Teams without the Teams Premium add-on, unless the admin purchases and assigns Teams Premium licenses for their users,” explains Microsoft in its licensing update."
