South Korea is ready to deploy nuclear weapons on its territory "from outside". This will happen if the nuclear threat from the DPRK grows.

President Yoon Suk-yeol made a statement to this effect. According to him, South Korea may deploy tactical nuclear weapons on its territory. Of course, he's talking about American warheads. However, the president added that Korea is ready to develop its own nuclear weapons.

Seoul also intends to hold exercises with the United States involving American nuclear weapons. Yoon Seok-yeol stressed that Washington is positive about such an initiative. The first part of the cabinet exercise will take place next month.
