Jetpack Aviation has developed a jet aircraft that looks like a motorcycle. The device is called the Speeder.

Here's What We Know

The company has not yet received permission to use the flying motorcycle from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), but hopes that the issue with the regulatory agency will be resolved. In the meantime, Jetpack Aviation is testing the Speeder at its plant in California.

The bike is equipped with eight powerful jet engines. The company is working to ensure that the bike can accelerate safely for the rider at 250 miles/ (400 km/h). At the same time, the cruising speed is 60 mph (96 km/h). At that speed, the Speeder will be able to fly for 30 minutes at an altitude of 100 feet (30 meters).

The company is also developing an unmanned version of the motorcycle. It will be used to transport goods. The maximum speed of such a modification will be 400 mph (645 km/h).

We are still waiting for the commercial version of the Speeder pilot motorcycle, but Jetpack Aviation has already opened accepting preliminary orders. The cost of the aircraft is $381,000.
