Mac Pro remains the only device with an Intel processor in the Apple Mac lineup
After today's announcement of new Apple products, there is only one device left in the Mac lineup with an Intel processor.
Details
Before that, the company had a Mac mini with an Intel processor. But it was replaced by models with the M2 Pro and M2 chips, after which Apple stopped production and sales of the old Mac mini.
The Mac Pro is now the only product in the Mac lineup that runs on an Intel processor. A new Mac Pro is rumored to be coming out this year that will get Apple's proprietary chip. After that, it looks like the Intel era in Mac devices will be over.
In June 2020, Apple said its transition to Apple Silicon would take about two years. After that, it gradually moved the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, and now the Mac mini to its own processors.
